Bailing out,,,

and hauling ass!! Katrina is a mean, nasty bitch and is headed straight for us. Our entire area is under mandatory evacuation orders and the house will likely be very flooded!! Sumbitch!!!! What a fucking mess!!

I’m probably going to end up at my brothers house for the next few days, further north above Lake Pontchartrain. He has a ‘net connection, hopefully it will continue working. He is actually in the path of the storm as well, but on higher ground.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you guys as soon as I can!! =)

Was just back to check and see if you had left any update, my heart is heavy for you dear as I know this is a very special place YOUR home. Just stay safe, take care, know you are on my mind. Jokes will not come at this time as it is serious business and my concern is of your safety not just getting through but the aftermath and your being on the meds you take that will have your system so supressed. Just watch and be cautious, please. I’m serious if you need a place I don’t have much in Georgia but we will share.

  35. micki Said:

Sweetie, I’m sorry but it looks like there will be no home to get back to. Since I have no general directional sense, I sincerely hope you are FAR enough away from the hurricane. It’s a cat-5 right now and from what I’ve been reading about it, I’m very concerned.

    Stay safe!

  36. Nori Said:

Good luck! Hope you and yours are well & safe.

  37. tCj Said:

Downgraded to a Cat4 just before landfall and skidding past on the east side of NO.

When I heard the hurricane was a Cat5, you were the first person I thought about. When I heard it was downgraded I smiled for you. If, in the end, you have need of a place to stay, my door’s open. That is, if you don’t mind hanging out in Texas heat.

  38. Last Girl On Earth Said:

Am thinking about you and your family, Sev. Hope you all are not really effected by this bad ‘ole storm. Take care and don’t take any strolls in the wind, OK! xo

  49. Blue Said:

  50. thequeen Said:

Thinking about you Sev and my best friend and his family and everyone else down there. Let us all know as soon as you can how you are doing. You’ve got my prayers for sure.

  51. micki Said:

The hurricane, luckily, hit on the east side, rather than the west side of NO.

They are having trouble getting information from those still in NO, as a lot of the towers got knocked out, so the news can’t report from there. There is flooding, but the extent won’t be known until sometime tomorrow. The winds have to die down for that to happen, and it’s not expected to until after dark.

http://www.brendanloy.com has been following the hurricane. Lots of links. The live video streams for 2 news stations are no longer working though.

  52. Michael Said:

    Stay safe… and dry, dude.

  53. Carolyn J. Said:

  61. Lois Lane Said:

  63. E-Lo Said:

  64. Julie Said:

Thought about you this morning when I was watching the Weather Channel. Hope you and your family are doing okay!

  65. CrazyRideLady Said:

It’s over now. I hope you’re fine. Let us know soon!!!

  66. Boo Said:

Hey Se7en, how are ya? You’re not on a roof somewhere are you.

I’m thinking about you and hoping you are ok and not going home to too much devastation (although it looks pretty bad)

  67. veronica Said:

I’m concerned and waiting for an update.
I know one thing about your people, you are proud and resourceful. You will rebuild your homeplace.
    Until then….I’m worried.

  68. HarleyQuinn Said:

Hey bud… Hope you are doing alright. Glad you evacuated and I hope you made it to your brothers house with no problems. Stay safe and let us know how you are and if you need anything. ;)

  69. Inanna Said:

Everyone… Seven’s home is south of the Mississippi River in Jefferson Parish, which has been totally devastated by Katrina. North of Lake Ponchartrain, near where my cousin and his brother lives (St. Tammany Parish), had it bad, very bad, but the not nearly the level that Jefferson did. Most of the low-lying areas in Jefferson have water to their rooftops. It is under martial law. No one is allowed in.

Let’s all be thankful Seven and his family followed the evacuation orders and are safe. I pray they have something to go home to.

Seven, may the Lord and Lady watch over you and assist you. If I can help, please let me know as soon as possible. We could always have a good old fashioned Blogger Barn Raisin’!! Peace
